Touchdown Shanghai

February 22, 2012 By Helen

We arrived in Shanghai around 6:30pm after a 15 hour flight. Meals, snacks and movies-on-demand kept us occupied. Our extra leg room seats allowed for some comfort, but coach is coach, and ultimately a tight squeeze.

Shanghai arrivalImmigration and customs went quickly. We had printed a Taxi card from the hotel website which gave directions to the hotel and a map, in English and Chinese, so our lack of language skills did not hamper us too much.

The hotel where we are staying is lovely and right in the center of Shanghai’s Huangpu district. The timing of arrival was perfect, late evening, so we settled in and went to bed by 11pm.

Everyone here has been friendly and helpful. We look forward to exploring and will post our adventures soon.
