Thirsty Bear

Thirsty Bear, San Francisco

Thirsty Bear, San Francisco

After all the walking around, we were hungry and thirsty. Perfect combination for the Thirsty Bear on Howard St. We had been there years ago and enjoyed it, so we headed in that direction. It was busy, but not yet filled with the after-work crowd. We checked the list of tap beers and of course at least Bill would have the IPA. But NO they were out of IPA! Shades of the Shanghai Brewery! Do we bring trouble with us? Are we being punished?

Plan B. Nothing compares to an IPA in hoppiness, but we were still tired and hungry. Bill tried the ESB and later the Pilsner, and oddly liked the Pilsner the best. I tried the Brown Bear and the Porter, both of which were lovely. Our bitter disappointment washed away. We had a wonderful blue cheese plate and some garlic prawns and we were happy.

We headed back to the Montgomery St. BART station and rode back to Fremont. Another good day out and about.
