Murder in Hawaii

January 18, 2013 By Helen

Murder Casts a Shadow, by Victoria Nalani KneubuhlWhen I want to learn about a new place, I turn to mysteries. My guide to Hawaii is the wonderful Victoria Nalani Kneubuhl. I read Murder Casts a Shadow before arriving, and now am immersed in Murder Leaves It’s Mark. These stories take place in 1930s Honolulu and are rich in history. Plus the protagonist is a Nancy Drew-like girl reporter named Mina Beckwith who stumbles into murder plots. I’m delighted to see she’s working on a third book in the series.
