Hong Kong – First Day

May 8, 2015 By Helen

We arrived late Friday night after more than a full day of traveling. The lounge is open late, so we were able to get a light bite of cookies and mineral water. We weren’t sure if we’d be able to sleep since it was about noon EDT and midnight here. No problem! Sleeping on the plane wasn’t that restful, so lying down finally was pure pleasure.

We are staying at the JW Marriott. The lounge is on the 33rd and 34th floors with a circular staircase between the floors. The breakfast spread is a gorgeous layout in two rooms – coffee, fruit, cereal, breads, waffles, eggs, meats, cheeses, etc. The coffee machine has cappuccino, latte and macchiato choices in addition to plain coffee and steamed milk. It grinds the beans after you make your choice. Maybe this is the next machine I should get for Dad? A step up from our Keurig mornings!

We haven’t figured out where we are going on our first day yet. It’s not yet 9am and it’s overcast and 82F but Wunderground says it feels like 88F — guess it’s humid.
