We spent yesterday afternoon walking around the Admiralty (where we are staying) and Central districts of Hong Kong island. It’s a built up area, densely packed with steep walkways. The temperature was high 80s and humid, but an occasional breeze kept things mostly comfortable. Near our hotel are tall buildings surrounded by lots of concrete and roadways. Very quickly we were walking a tree-lined pathway. And eventually we walked a steep hill that looked like Canal Street crossed with San Francisco. We did a double take when we saw a sign that looked like it belongs to the NYC subway – and in fact it is exactly that – Prince Street Station, Downtown & Brooklyn, N R W.
